The Certification Process 

Your product may become FM Approved following our five-step process. It’s straightforward and efficient and, if Approved, may differentiate your product in the global marketplace.

Testings and Facilities

FM Approvals rigorously tests products at the FM Global Research Campus, home to state-of-the-art facilities and laboratories. Each laboratory focuses on a unique aspect of property loss prevention.

Accreditations

FM Approvals is accredited or recognized as a test lab, certification agency and/or standards development organization by a number of agencies.

Inter-Laboratory Agreements

FM Approvals holds mutual testing agreements with testing and certification labs around the world. When you participate in FM Approvals’ Inter-laboratory Agreement program, your product is tested according to global standards.
