CLAVIER IS A CASE-BASED REASONING SYSTEM DESIGNED TO AID IN THE EFFICIENT LOADING OF COMPOSITE MATERIAL PARTS INTO AN AUTOCLAVE. THIS PAPER FOCUSES ON FINDING THE BEST LAYOUT OF PARTS TO MAKE THE AUTOCLAVE CONTROL PROCESS AS EASY AS POSSIBLE. THIS IS DONE USING A RELATIVELY NEW ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TECHNIQUE CALLED CASE-BASED REASONING. IN CLAVIER, THE LIST OF PARTS TO BE CURED IS MATCHED AGAINST A LIBRARY OF SUCCESSFUL COMPOSITE MOLD LAYOUTS WHICH HAVE PREVIOUSLY BEEN RUN IN THE AUTOCLAVE. THE CURRENT SYSTEM IS FIELDED AND GIVES VIRTUALLY IDENTICAL RESULTS TO THE EXPERTS IN THE LAYOUT RETRIEVAL AND PLANNING CAPABILITIES.
