New IEEE Standard - Active - Draft.
IEEE 1937.1(TM) presents general interface requirements and performance characteristics of payload devices in drones.
It describes the drone payload interfaces in three categories: Mechanical interface/Electrical interface/Data interface. Mechanical interface is used to fix the payload to the drone. Electrical interface is an electromechanical device used to join electrical terminations. The electrical interface includes the power supply interface and the two-way communication interface. The data interface refers to the communication protocol. IEEE Standard P1937.1¿¿¿ illustrates the requirements and performance characteristics of the drone payload interface in detail from aspects of temperature/humidity/water and dust proof/vibration and shock/mold/salt spray etc. The Annexes are important for understanding this standard. They illustrate typical drone payloads, and typical interface requirements and performance characteristics of specific payloads.
