It is important to distinguish that, while this reporting method uses the SIA Receiver-to-Computer Interface Protocol as a foundation, it is intended for event transport from protected premises to a central station - possibly using the public Internet.
This standard is intended for use by manufactuers of control panels and central station receivers to ensure equipment compatibility, as well as all affected parties. Compliance with this standard is voluntary.
